The Best Pizza in SoCal
Hello! Thank you so much for subscribing. For my first post, I wanted to share some of my favorite pizza spots in Orange County.
A Perfect Beachside Dinner Spot
HomeSlice Pizza is the ideal casual dinner spot, located just steps from a scenic Dana Point lookout. Their pizzas lean classic but incorporate flavorful twists like black truffle oil, toasted pine nuts, Calabrian chili honey, and roasted garlic confit. HomeSlice is a go-to for a relaxed summer evening.
My current favorites are the Maximus—a red pie topped with fresh mozzarella, Genoa salami, meatballs, ricotta, and Calabrian chili honey—and the Delacroix, a white pizza with fresh mozzarella, andouille sausage, charred Hawaiian pineapple, and chili flakes.
Pro tip: They don’t carry ranch, but their house-made blue ranch dipping sauce is a must-order.
Pizza prices: $20–$23
Wood-Fired and Unique
Skål Pizza is the perfect spot for a nicer lunch in Lido Marina Village, Newport Beach. Enjoy wood-fired Scandinavian-style pizza and fresh pasta right on the dock. They use farm-fresh, intentionally sourced ingredients—and it shows.
Their pineapple and Spanish chorizo pizza, served with pesto sauce, mixed mozzarella, serranos, and green hot honey, was an unforgettable blend of bold and balanced flavors. They're also currently offering a seasonal butternut squash and sage pizza with vegan gouda and a hot agave drizzle—it sounds incredible and I’m planning to try it next.
Pizza prices: $20–$25
Farm-to-Table and Fresh
The Farmhouse at Roger’s Gardens is a more upscale dinner option, offering a wide variety of seasonal entrees—but their pizza was a standout surprise. With ingredients sourced straight from the farm, you can truly taste the difference.
Their peach pizza, marked as a “local favorite,” lives up to the hype. The peaches were the freshest and brightest I’ve ever had, and the prosciutto and honey glaze paired perfectly. While they currently only offer one pizza, their vegetable-forward small plates and mains are also worth exploring.

Honorable Mention: Wilshire’s Apple Shed (Oak Glen)
Wilshire’s isn’t the most convenient if you're in Orange County, but if you’re planning a day trip to Oak Glen (and you should), it’s a must-stop. Their split menu features both café options—including a $4.50 caramel apple latte—and beautiful wood-fired pizzas.
The Kitchen Garden, topped with stonewall pesto, mozzarella, garlic, onion, bell peppers, and farm-grown cherry tomatoes, then finished with fresh spinach, was outstanding. I’m already planning a trip back to try the Bee’s Knees pizza, which features house-made marinara, mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni, Italian sausage, garlic cloves, diced onion, and fresh basil.
Pizza prices: $18–$20 —plus, the mountainside views make it even more memorable.
